2) Wireframe

This stage focuses on how all elements will fit together on your site.

It is a clickable but non-functional skeleton version of your website-to-be.

The focus is on creating the navigation, information architecture, and making the click pathways real, allowing us to “click a mile” in the visitor’s shoes.

WHAT WILL YOU SAY?

In this first step of the wireframe, I focus on creating the main sections of the site and the very general click pathways.

Here, the focus is only on making sure everything that wants to be said has a place on the site.

HOW WILL YOU SAY IT?

The second step of the wireframe digs deeper into each section created in the first step.

Keeping in mind that any visitor may start at any page of the site, I create a unique click pathway for each target visitor type.

HOW WILL THEY RESPOND?

It is one thing to guide a visitor through a pathway of receiving information, and another thing entirely for that visitor to take the action at the end of the path.

In addition to the long pathway for new visitors, we must also provide a shortcut for visitors who want to jump right into taking action.
