Conversion & Response

“Conversion” refers to how effectively your site convinces visitors to take the actions you want them to take.

If it takes 500 visitors to get one sale, and we improve your site so it only takes 100 visitors to get a sale, we’ve increased your site’s conversion rate.

We employ various techniques in order to achieve this.

Analysis

The first step in improving your site’s conversion, is to be able to answer basic questions, such as: How many people visit your site? Where do they come from? What do they do on your site?

To answer these questions we’ll ensure the proper statistical tools are in place.  The tools available for this range from free [Google Analytics] to paid [Omniture, Webtrends]

Testing

Once we get your measuring tools in place, we perform tests in order to learn how certain parts of your site affect visitors response.  When testing, we compare certain elements side by side, and see how they measure up.   Anything can be tested: Headlines, colors, layout, images, pricing, traffic source, etc.

Improvement

As we progress through the testing process, we move away from educated guessing towards higher levels of predictability.  The more we know about how your site performs, the more we can leverage that information into accelerated rates of improved conversion.   We’ll know the types of layout, text, and images that your visitors respond to. We’ll know which traffic sources are the most (and least) valuable.

Through trial and error, your site will outperform its competitors by leaps and bounds.
